Storm Debris Pick-up Ended Friday, Nov. 11
Last week was the last week Town crews waived surcharges to pick up large piles of storm debris from Hurricane Matthew in the Town of Clayton. Waste Management remains behind on yard waste collection, so staff did go through Town at the end of last week and make note of piles that were larger than allowed weekly - those customers should receive pick-up this week with no charge. Yard waste placed at the curb now should be kept to town standards. Click below for more info!

Clayton Voters Approve Beer & Wine Referendums
Town of Clayton voters approved two referendums last night that will allow both on- and off-premise sales of malt beverages (beer) and unfortified wine in Clayton. Now, businesses other than restaurants – such as wine or beer stores – can sell beer or wine for on-site consumption. The move brings Clayton’s laws in line with neighboring communities, such as Smithfield, Selma, Benson, Apex, Holly Springs. Johnston County also had these same exact referendum on the ballot and both were also passed.

Please DO NOT PUT PLASTIC BAGS in your recycling cart! Throw everything in loose - bottles, cans, paper - it can all be sorted at the recycling plant. But DO NOT PUT your recycling in plastic grocery bags or garbage bags! They can clog the sorting machines and SHUT DOWN the ENTIRE recycling plant! If drivers see plastic bags in your cart, they'll leave a notice that they could not pick up your cart.
