Project Description:  The purpose of the project is to connect the Clayton Community Center with several schools and downtown Clayton.  The project includes the construction of a 1.2 mile multi-use pedestrian connector that ties into the existing five foot sidewalk at the Clayton Community Center (located at the intersection of Shotwell Road and Amelia Church Road), parallels Amelia Church Road, turns to the south and follows Little Creek, crosses Little Creek with a pedestrian bridge, and then follows an existing Town of Clayton sanitary sewer easement to Lombard Street.  At Lombard Street, the 10-foot wide trail ends and continues as a five foot sidewalk along Lombard Street, continues underneath US 70, and terminates at the intersection of Lombard Street and Hamby Street.

Description:  The applicant is approved for a Major Site Plan in the Highway Business Special Use District (B-3-S) at the intersection of US 70 Business Highway W and Rose Street, within Town Limits.  The site was rezoned to B-3-S on April 7, 2014 (case #RZ 2013-108), with no conditions attached to the rezoning. The site is currently occupied by residential uses and includes seven properties totaling approximately 2.46 acres.  The development includes one building and one gas canopy with the following uses: a convenience store and restaurant with gas sales.  The building includes 1,388 square feet of restaurant space and 5,170 square feet of retail space.
