NOTARY PUBLIC INFORMATION
Initial Appointment as a Notary Public:
Persons living in Johnston County completing the Notary Public course require a recommendation from a North Carolina elected official before submitting the application for Initial Appointment as a Notary Public to the North Carolina Secretary of State.
The Clayton Town Council members are very willing to assist citizens seeking to serve as a Notary Public. Persons may contact any of the Clayton Town Council members and make arrangements for your form to be signed:
Another option is to contact the Town Clerk at Clayton Town Hall, 111 East Second Street. The Clayton Town Council members do not keep regular office hours at Town Hall. When one of the Council members is at Town Hall, the Town Clerk will make the elected official aware of your notary appointment request. After your application for Initial Appointment as a Notary Public has been signed by an elected official, you will be contacted to pick up your application.
Notary Services:
Persons needing notary services may contact their financial institution or the UPS Store located at 901 Towne Centre Boulevard near the Wal-Mart.
