Board of Adjustment       2   Vacancies:    (1- In Town) (1- ETJ)

The Board of Adjustment serves to interpret the Town’s ordinances and polices for unique situations or special cases. The Board also decides whether to grant variances – deviations from what the Town’s ordinances allow. The Board is a “quasi-judicial” board, which means the Board’s power is above that of the code enforcement officer, but below that of the court system.

Meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the Town Council Chambers.

Want to apply? Here's the application to complete and return to the Town Clerk. You may turn applications in to the Town Clerk in person (111 East Second Street), by mail (PO Box 879, Clayton, NC 27528) or by email. You can view all of the meeting schedules by going to the Calendar of Events and selecting Mayor & Council, Board & Committees.

Serving on a board or committee isn't the only way to get involved in the Town of Clayton...check out our Volunteer Opportunities page for other great ideas!
