Town of Clayton has New Facebook Page

The Town of Clayton is on Facebook, joining other municipalities across the state in using the new communications tool to interact with residents.

Though the Police Department, Fire Department, Library and The Clayton Center have had a presence on Facebook for some time, the new page is intended to convey timely information about more general town operations.

“Making use of the new communication tools just makes sense,” said Town Manager Steve Biggs. “We invite residents to log on to their Facebook accounts, visit the town’s page and keep up with what’s going on around town.”

Town officials are also looking forward to getting resident comments, Biggs said.

Though the town’s web site -- townofclaytonnc.org – will remain the principal communication tool with residents and the public, the Facebook page offers a way to get more information out, including time-sensitive information, in a way that’s often more convenient for many residents, he said.
