When submitting a media inquiry, please include the following information:
Your name and job title
Your media organization/company
Type of media (TV, radio, newspaper, podcast, blog, etc.)
Deadline for your request
A brief synopsis of the story or the information you are requesting
Your preferred contact information (email and phone)
We will do our best to respond to media inquiries in a timely manner.

Media partners who would like to receive news releases, media alerts, and other important updates may request to be added to the Town’s media distribution list. To be added or to recommend a colleague, please email newsroom@townofclaytonnc.org with the appropriate contact information.
Members of the media are welcome to cover public events and activities from:
Public sidewalks
Public roads
Other openly accessible areas
and locations specifically designated by the Town for media access
That's provided they do so safely and without disrupting the event, program, activity, or normal operations.
Access to interior spaces of Town facilities may require advance approval. Please coordinate with the Communication and Outreach Department at newsroom@townofclaytonnc.org before visiting any Town building inside. This helps maintain safety, privacy, and operational guidelines while allowing you to report accurately.
The Town provides several tools to help media partners access accurate information quickly and efficiently. The Maps & GIS tool offers address lookup, street maintenance, future land use, and other resources while the Social Media Channels share updates, photos, and multimedia content from the Town's departments.
