Golf Cart Registration

The Town of Clayton requires all golf carts operating on public streets and roadways to be registered with the Clayton Police Department. Registration ensures that your golf cart complies with the Town’s ordinance and may only be operated on approved streets. Currently, the only approved streets are within the Glen Laurel community.

Before completing your registration, please thoroughly review the Golf Cart Registration Packet (PDF), which provides:

  • An overview of the golf cart registration process

  • A checklist to assist in completing your registration

  • All necessary forms / items for submission and compliance

Once all forms have been completed, please submit them via email to CPDpermits@townofclaytonnc.org.
